Never owned a gun and i am looking for a good handgun for personal use, i am very interested in the Smith & Wesson .45 M&P, any advice would be appreciated

The M&P would be a good choice IMO
Take an NRA basic class (or the equivalant) and you'll know a lot more about it

I have a Winchester mod94 30-30 (PRE 64). The bluing is a bit scratched and worn (no rust). Will it lessen the value at all if I have it re-blued?
Answer:
IMO, Yes.
I'm sure other people will have other opinions. but I like things as original as possible
